This Privacy Policy explains how Fishing Boats (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile apps, admin web portal, and website at thefishingboats.com.

1. Who we are

Fishing Boats is a coastal charter discovery and operator listing platform. Legal entity details (registered company name and business address) will be updated here when finalized by the owner.

2. Information we collect

Customer accounts

• Email and password (via Firebase Authentication)
• Display name, optional phone, photo URL
• Optional home location and preferred charter type
• Favorites (saved listing IDs)

Operator accounts / companies

• Business name, contact name, email, phone, website
• Business address, city/state, description
• Captain profile information
• Vessel details and images
• Package/trip details and availability
• Listing draft content (titles, descriptions, marina/departure address, coordinates, policies, images)
• Verification documents uploaded for review
• Subscription status fields used for publishing eligibility

Booking requests

• Customer, operator, listing, and package identifiers
• Trip date/time, passenger count, notes, phone provided with the request
• Price display fields and booking status (request workflow)

Chat / messages

• Thread participants, message text, and related listing/booking references

Admin web

• Administrator authentication and review actions on operator/listing content

3. How we use information

• Provide account, listing, booking-request, favorites, and messaging features
• Operate operator onboarding, verification, and listing review
• Publish approved public listings when eligibility rules are met
• Respond to support and privacy requests
• Protect security, prevent fraud/abuse, and comply with law

4. Service providers / infrastructure

We use Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage, to power the apps and admin portal. Data may be processed on infrastructure operated by Google according to their terms and security practices.

5. Payments

We do not currently process customer card payments, deposits, or Stripe checkout inside the customer app. Operator subscription billing may use platform store billing where configured; production receipt verification may be rolled out over time.

6. Sharing

We share information as needed to operate the service — for example, booking request details with the relevant operator, and public listing content with customers. We do not sell personal information.

7. Retention

We retain information while your account is active and as needed for operations, security, disputes, and legal requirements. Exact retention periods may be refined as policies mature.

• Update profile information in the app
• Request account deletion via Delete Account

9. Children’s privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.

10. International users

If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States.
